Healed during a memorable summer
Hi there, my name is Favour . My most memorable Camp David was in 2018. First, let me start by stating that Camp David 2018 was the first ever camp I attended as a teenager and it was so amazing! I was a bit worried initially as to whether I will enjoy being away from home for 5 days and 4 nights. My parents were also very concerned because I had an underlining health condition. Without anyway of reaching me on camp grounds, their fear only increased.
The first day at camp was super fun and exciting. I got to meet people and interact with my peers. The praise party of the first night was mad fun. I danced and praised God to my heart’s content. After such a great first day, it only got better. Day 2 of Camp David 2018 is a personal memorabilia because I experienced God as a healer there. During the worship session, God healed me from sickle cell anemia. I was born Sickle celled (SS) and this made growing up challenging. Usually, I had a crisis at least three times every year but God showed up for me at Camp David 2018. It has been almost 4 years and I have never experienced any form of crisis so far.
I heard God for the very first time in my life. It was at camp that God revealed a lot of things about myself and life to me. I discovered who God really wanted me to be. I learnt and started to enjoy spending time alone with God which started during the one on one with God sessions at Camp. I also learnt a lot about my identity in Christ and who I am. Camp David played a major role in boosting my relationship with God.
My first Camp David is filled with so many good memories: God healed me from sickle cell anemia, I heard God for the very first time in my life, I started to spend time alone with God, I even gained a few pounds because of the really delicious meals available and I met some awesome people. The list can go on and on. For me, Camp David 2018 was a blessing and my life remains changed forever.
