My Camp David 2018 Experience

It was the first Camp David ever, I was so excited and uncertain as I wasn't sure what to expect. I came to Camp David to have fun, lots of fun but it was so much more!

The first night in camp was electrifying, it was praise night. Memory of this night is one of my fondest memories, we all danced non-stop, it was gospel praise like never before, the energy in the room was so much, I'd never seen anything like it. Everyone was happy and dancing, there were lights, music & happy people dancing. That night beat my expectations, it was fun!!! 

The foodie in me was so excited when it was time to eat, the food was delicious, we got an adequate portion, there was always enough food & drinks to go round.

On the afternoon of one of our main sessions, I met God, not physically but I literally felt God, I saw him transform lives. He transformed mine too, I received closure for a horrible incident that happened in the past. God showed me in what seemed to be a time travel experience into the past, myself on the night of the traumatic experience and he told me he has always been with me, and from that day I knew what a loving father God is, I felt enveloped in his warmth and love. 

Camp was a safe home, there was always a general to talk to if I needed help or counsel. In our platoons, everyone was encouraged to participate, no question or suggestions were shunned. I made new friends and formed a tighter bond with my old friends. We played a lot of games! Camp wars was my favorite game. Each game session was unique, interesting and fun.

When it was time to say goodbye, it was a bittersweet experience. I wanted to live in Camp David for the rest of my life and at the same time I was happy to go share my camp experience with my family & friends at school. The memories I have of Camp David 2018 is one I cherish alot. As I write this, I feel happy & nostalgic as I remember what my first Camp David experience was like. I'm thankful to David's Army for organizing such a wonderful camp. Camp David is the highlight of my teen years.
